I love designing covers for books!
For me, each cover design represents a mini-journey into a different story, topic, world or realm. Through book cover design, I have picked up fun bits of new knowledge in areas as varied as ‘romantic tropes’, ‘electric journeyman prep’, ‘bitcoins and NFTs’, ‘intermittent fasting’, ‘somatic therapy’ – to name but a few. Always happy to learn more and always happy to add any and every genre to my repertoire.
I have a solid background in branding, packaging and advertising: book cover design often combines a lttle bit of each of those disciplines, including consumer psychology. I ‘fell’ into book cover design by chance and quickly realised that it ticks all of my creative boxes, giving me an opportunity to combine imagination with commercial knowledge. I have designed magazine, brochure and report covers since 2005, and book covers since 2019.
